WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Yeah, that's right, I just finished my Dartmouth application! Oh, and btw, I grounded myself from livejournal and xangas until I finished. And I probably won't get on again 'till Christmas b/c I am sooo freakin busy.
Anyways. Back to my life.
HC was last weekend= TONS of fun!!! We took pictures in Windsor Park Lakes (thanks Kevin), and then realized we had an hour and a half until our dinner reservation. So what do we do? Go to Target of course!! Then we went to Atami for dinner. For those who don't know, Atami is like Benihana's but less expensive and much closer. Our chef was way awesome; I won't ruin it for those who haven't been, but I will say that it was amazing and everyone should definitely go. Then the dance= awkward. But we only stayed for about 45 minutes, so that was good. Saw Luke get crowned king, and then left to the best part of the night. Afterparty was at Margaret's and it was rockin'. We even had party crashers- it's a great story; ask me if you ever see me. It turned in to a dance party, and Willie and I left at about 2 am because I simply could not keep my eyes open any longer.

So in review, life is great but insanely busy. School, guard, homework, sleep. Until next time,

Erica

eek! Where does all the time go? First football game- over already. I'm turning 18 in a little over a month. And by Christmas (about 3 1/2 months) I should know (hopefully for sure) if I'll be living in New Hampshire for the next 4 years. And yes, that means I'm applying to Dartmouth early decision. I'm mailing my preliminary forms tomorrow. Eeek! Haha, I'm turning into Athena already. I can feel it.

Boo school. But on the bright side (if there is one)- 161 days left!

Time:4:05 pm.
Mood: nervous.
Music:Why- Annie Lennox.
I now have a fear of things falling from the ceiling.

I was sitting in English class on Friday, grading my homework as usual, when suddenly I see a pretty big fall onto my desk. It didn't have any wings or anything, so I can only assume that it fell from the ceiling. I have a pretty big fear/hate of/for bugs, so I freaked out and tried to get it off my desk while the teacher just stood there and stared at me. Then it fell on my chair- I stood up and tried to get it off until it finally fell on the floor while the other girls next to me freak out. So there is my "Erica freaks out and her teacher thinks she is a spaz" story for the day.

Oh, and I started my Dartmouth app today... nervous much? I'll find out in December...

Looks like things are going pretty well so far. Well, except our new AP English IV teacher resigned on Friday after a grand total of 2 days. Who knows what'll happen, but it looks like I'll be printing some Sudoku puzzles tonight.

Only 2 days until SYTYCD finale! yay!!

soooo. Not much summer left, which is really scary. I just got back from vacation, which was a total blast. We went to Turks and Caicos (a small group of islands in the British West Indies). I had somewhat mixed feelings afterwards, but overall good trip. 10 days was far too long to stay there because it is still not entirely developed, so your activities are pretty much limited to the ocean and anything that involves it, like scuba diving, windsurfing, etc. If you do go, I suggest not staying where we did (The Sands). An all-inclusive resort would be much better because everything there is ridiculously expensive, like 3 or 4 times what you would pay here. But the beach was amazing and I had a great time scuba diving. We saw some crazy colorful fish, a turtle and even a shark (which, according to one lady, was "gihugic!"). So the rest of the summer looks like this:

-Watching So You Think You Can Dance and anything on VH1
-Guard camp this saturday, monday, tuesday and wednesday
-UT Honors Colloquium July 27-29
-Summer band August 1-10
-School starts August 10

eek! And I still haven't started my summer reading assignment. And my calculus assignment is still sitting on my desk....

Until next time

So I just read that Angelina Jolie has given birth to the Brangelina child, at last.

I have only one thing to say: That girl is both the luckiest and unluckiest girl in the world. She has the most gorgeous people on the planet as her parents, so that makes her the most gorgeous girl on the planet. However, she also has the media following her every footstep. Tricky, no?

Subject:Seniors 2007!
Time:6:25 pm.
So my dream pretty much came true today...

Yeah, I'm a nerd. But proud of it! We'll see about Harvard...

Sadly, junior year is pretty much over. I'd love to say that I enjoyed every minute of it, but that'd be a lie. There were times when I wanted to kill pretty much everyone. But somehow, I managed to make new friends, as well as keep up with old ones. Part of me is glad it's over, but part of me wants to stay a junior forever... having fun with Shellum, making fun of Soliman, joking around with Mr. C, teasing Ms. Sweeney, getting away with stuff behind Ferland's back, and just having plain fun in Spanish with Mrs. Harris. But hopefully this year will give way to bigger and better things- State marching contest, WGI (hopefully...) and college!

Seniors, I'll miss ya'll sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Thanks for making this year a fun one. And don't forget to keep in touch.

I know this is in my profile, and I apologize, but not everyone that reads this has my screenname.

Anyways, some kids in Ann Arbor have been munching magic pills to relieve the stress of finals. This is the reason I want to go to college. I think it's golden. I especially love the noise that Inky makes. Wagga-wagga-wagga!

//edit: The link doesn't quite show up because of the color scheme. Click on "magic pills".

(talk to me)

Time:8:19 pm.
wow... I can't believe 2005 is almost over! So I'm pretty sure that I haven't done a real update in forever, so here goes.

School is going pretty well. They say that junior year is the toughest, and with 6 classes, it definitely is. AP English is definitely the toughest class. The tests kill me, and there's just a lot of reading. No Fin- type teachers this year, but definitely some interesting characters. We have Mr. Ferland, physics teacher, who is weirder than we are... awesome!! I remember the time he stood on his desk and did his ghetto gun imitation. It definitely makes up for me having to sit next to the most annoying kid on the face of the earth. Then Cunningham, who is a former dot-com millionaire whose company went chapter 11- defninitely a cool guy. And it helps that he likes the CS2 and 3 kids best. Then we have Soliman, history teacher, who is a pretty interesting guy. He'll tell you anything if you ask him. He thinks Kanye West is gay too. He knows pretty much nothing about history, but it makes for interesting discussions. Mrs. Harris is definitely my favorite- she's always so hyper, and I love her stories. Shellum will always be Shellum.

I took the SAT in November, and got my results over Thanksgiving... 2130 total. I'm going to retake it in May or June I think; I didn't do too hot on reading. And my best friend got a 2400 (new perfect score). Not cool.

There's not too much new in my personal life... pretty much the same friends, but I eat lunch with my nerd friends this year haha.

So winterguard has started... and I don't know who our new director is going to be. This shall definitely be an interesting season to say the least.

I've been watching lots of movies and TV shows on DVD lately. I watched Hotel Rwanda (awesome) and Edward Scissorhands a few nights ago. I love Johnny Depp. And Dom Cheadle. Scrubs is awesome too.

If anyone wants to do anything on New Year's Eve, PLEASe call me... my sister wants to have a party with her friends here and I'm 237892382973928% sure I won't want to be here. So call me.

Subject:yay thanksgiving!!
Time:10:13 am.
Mood: happy.
Music:A Dios le pido- Juanes.
So I know it's been forever and a day since I've written in here, but I've been really busy lately.

I guess I'll start with guard... We ended marching season getting 2nd in guard at the LoneStar Preview/Woodlands Contest. We lost to Tom's guard (can't remember their name...) aka the "Thriller" show. I was really disappointed that I missed it while I was changing/practicing salute, because I heard that that band's show was AMAZING. Anyways, winterguard has started... and I think the show is gonna be pretty cool, although I am disappointed that Jeff Namian isn't coming this year for some reason... :(. The show is based on a movie called "Waking Life" and the music is parts of the soundtrack mixed with quotes from the movie. Fun stuff. The only part I hate is when the word "life" repeats over and over and over. And the same thing with "Are you a dreamer?".

School is okay, but it just takes up so much time. For instance, on Wednesday night, I was up until 1 am doing homework and we didn't even have guard practice that night. But now that marching is over, I'm slowly returning to my complete ownage of school. I'm just glad that I have Spanish last period because it's easy and the class is fun (haha some of you know why :) )

I saw Harry Potter at midnight on Thursday!! It was so freaking awesome... I'm not going to ruin it for any of you except to say that it was amazing. I thought Snape should've had more screen time though. Maybe it's because he reminds me of Mr. Fin and whenever I read the books, Mr. Fin always plays Snape in my head. It's really pretty funny, because he always says the best things. I heard a Mr. Fin story from a senior the other day. It made my day too. When the Janet Jackson controversy was going on, Mr. Fin would have CNN on in the room and one time when Janet came on the tv, he said "Somebody needs to spank her!". And this kid was like "Would you spank her, Mr. Fin?" to which Mr. Fin replied "Of course! If she was my daughter, I would have spanked her already!". Anyways. I got home at like 3 last night and realized that I had to be up in 3 hours. Cool feeling. I came home yesterday and fell asleep at 4. And woke up this morning at 7.

I'm going to be home all of Thanksgiving break, so if you want to do anything, just call me!

wow, this has been one long ass week.. and for that matter, one long ass season. uil was yesterday, we got 1 1 2. okay considering the band hasn't spent much time on 3rd movement. i just can't wait for this week to be over, there's just so much going on. i'm definitely feeling the junior year burn... and i ask myself every day why the hell did i sign up for all these classes? oh well. hopefully my nerdiness will pay off one day. ohh! i went to the duke info session thing this weekend, and i LOVE duke. i think it might be my #1 pick right now. and i think i might want to be an engineering major... i'll have to think it over.

HOTTEST. PICTURE. EVER. )

whoever Billy Graham is must have an assload of money. b/c there's an infomercial on channel 11 for his religion.. yeah. pretty much the worst infomercial ever.

EDIT: beth- i just read your letter again, and it is truly amazing. i just thought you should know that. gusto will probably cry :)

so we totally beat clear lake 21-14 which was unexpected. saturday pretty much did nothing, then went to church and then to pei wei with my dad which was totally awesome. we had to wait for our food for over 30 minutes, so they brought us free appetizers (yum) which we got to eat for like 2 seconds before our food actually came. Sunday was spent studying. The history book cracks me up. I think it was written by a frustrated english teacher... it's full of crazy metaphors that go on for pages without any explanation...
"the colonists only had to tickle the soil and it would laught a harvest"
"to say that the colonists, with the help of France, defeated Britain is like saying "Daddy and I killed the bear" "
there was another laughing metaphor and some crazy metaphor about a hen that I forgot... if I find it i'll put it in.
Ugh, I have to decide tomorrow if I want to drop AP history or not... kill me now.

LifeTeen tonight was uber awesome. I highly recommend seeing Jared Hall if you get the opportunity, but he only performs at churches and similar places of worship. He's an illusionist/comedian that is totally awesome. Yeah, gonna go to bed now...

(talk to me)

Time:8:48 pm.
Mood: blah.
Music:jesus of suburbia- green day.
well another week has passed. So i suppose I shall start where I left off. Last saturday, danielle, rachel, mariel, kelsey and i went to see the brothers grimm. it was kinda weird, but in a good way, and i definitely liked it. can't remember the rest of saturday, but sunday went to church and stuff and then monday athena came over and we watched some oc. good times. then my grandma came over (aka craziness). after she left, i finished some homework and watched some more oc in preparation for thursday. tuesday/wednesday/thursday were all kind of the same: school, band, homework, sleep. nothing too interesting or exciting. today was awesome because, well, today is friday! today sucked because we had to listen to the counselors ramble for an entire hour about how important it is to get good grades, blah blah blah. oh and pre-cal is definitely the best class ever. ms sweeney rocks my world. i love the afternoon because it is totally rockin- precal, followed by physics and spanish! (aka the 3 best teachers this year all in a row). and apparently im pretty much asian. tell me something i don't know.

oh! we got a new assistant director named kaley. don't know that much about her other than she marched bluecoats... she seems pretty cool though. and we got a new girl from new orleans. she too seems pretty cool.

speaking of drum corps, i watched the world championships on espn2. wtf... cadets??? in my opinion, either cavaliers or phantom regiment should have won. but what do i know?

THE OC!!! o.m.g. (don't read if you haven't seen it/not interested...)

so. i was mad when trey woke up. why?!? and julie needs to die. like now. sandy rocks. kirsten.. just.. ugh. who is that other woman? and did anyone else see the look on her face when sandy went to visit kirsten (jealous much?). i'm excited for next week's episode.

ps- according to ms. sweeney, next friday is early dismissal pep rally schedule (basically means each class is practically 10 minutes. yay!).
pps- if you're in the guard and randomly reading this and your mum is at my house, you need to come get it like now.
